Risk classification sounds like a back-office problem, but it isn't.

When a private bank recommends a product to a client, the classification of that product's risk is the foundation of everything: suitability, compliance, the quality of the advice itself. Get it wrong and the consequences ripple outward. Get it right and it becomes invisible — which is exactly what it should be.

CBH Compagnie Bancaire Helvétique, a Geneva-based private bank, implemented Edgelab's Product Risk Classification service to sharpen its suitability process. The PRC runs on Edgelab's Risk Engine — a cloud-based solution that classifies financial products across all asset classes, including complex instruments like structured products. It doesn't approximate.

The implementation went smoothly. CBH rolled out the new classification layer without disrupting ongoing advisory operations.

The current deployment focuses on product-level classification. But the Risk Engine doesn't stop there. Portfolio-level analysis, stress testing and scenario simulation are all within reach as CBH's needs grow. The idea is to build a foundation that compounds in value over time — not solve a one-off regulatory requirement and move on.

That's the version of risk infrastructure we build. Accurate, transparent and directly embedded into the work, so Advisors can focus on clients instead of managing complexity.
